PREMIERE: ADAM WOLF - "WAIT UP"
Burlington-based musician Adam Wolf is best known as a member of shoegaze quartet Sleeping In & cinematic doom crew Wolfhand. Next month, he'll release his debut solo EP, a collection of songs taken from his earliest stages of songwriting & his most recent works, entitled Songs I & II. With his solo material, Wolf drops the forceful energy, fuzzed-out guitars of prior projects & instead opts for melancholic, sepia-toned slowcore a-la Red House Painters.
Today we're sharing his first single, "Wait Up". It's a clear, cold ode to the ugliness of giving up on a soured relationship. "At this point I wouldn't argue at all/ At this point I wouldn't argue with anything," Wolf's baritone confesses over the songs entrancing, reverberated guitar melody. "Life wasn't what I'd claimed in my heart," He adds before the distant lap steel & airy rhythm section collide & cascade. Listen to it below.
