PREMIERE: FULL WALRUS - "ME AND YOU"
Full Walrus is the pseudonym for the artistic endeavors of Burlington-based musician Noah Schneidman. His debut LP hello. is dropping in a few weeks & it is shaping up to be a dorm room pop gem in it's truest form. We've already heard "Vegetables" as well as "Painted Love," and today we're premiering his latest single "Me And You". It's a fairly straightforward love song, but to Schneidman it represents a first:
"I have been writing sad songs forever. I came up with the riff on "Me And You" & I felt for the first time that I’m at a point in my life where I’m actually not that sad. This is the one song that I wrote to encapsulate a love-y dove-y, nice feeling that is largely ignored in the rest of the songs on the album."
"Me And You" starts off slow with a few dreamy, arpeggiated guitar chords & Schneidman's voice. Velvety synths, soft thundering drums & a coo of falsetto aaaaah's kick everything into gear and before long, the song is a full-on dance rock guitar romp—not dissimilar to Smith Westerns at their prime.
Frollic in the flowers, be with the one(s) you love and let Full Walrus soundtrack your Valentine's Day. It’s Aquarius season, after all.
